The Gandhara style Buddha statue is seated on a base wearing a beautifully carved robe. His earlobes are stretched. His elongated earlobes are from years of Siddhartha wearing heavy earrings in his princely youth. The gesture of discussion and debate indicates communication and an explanation of the Dharma. The right hand touches the earth while the left hand all other fingers are extended upwards. The robes of the Buddha feature details of the life of Gautama on his path to becoming the Enlightened One.

The Buddha explained that he was not a God. He was simply enlightened. He was only teaching what he had experienced. It did not need divine intervention.
